StarCruises Hosts RMHC Malaysia Families Aboard Star Voyager
StarCruises, together with Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia), welcomed nearly 200 pediatric patients and their families aboard the Star Voyager for a special port stay event in Port Klang, the company announced in a press release.
The guests were beneficiaries of the Ronald McDonald House at Hospital Tunku Azizah in Kuala Lumpur, which provides “home away from home” accommodations for families with children receiving medical treatment.
The occasion also marked the start of the Star Voyager’s 2025/2026 season from Port Klang. The ship will operate between December 19, 2025, and February 2, 2026, on itineraries to Phuket, Singapore and Bintan.
This initiative is part of StarCruises’ corporate social responsibility program, “Bringing Hope and Happiness Onboard and Beyond,” designed to support communities in ports throughout Asia.
“On behalf of StarCruises, we are delighted to have the RMHC families with us aboard the Star Voyager,” said Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises. “As we begin our Port Klang deployment this season, it was a joy for our crew to spend the day with the children and their families, sharing smiles, laughter and memorable moments together.”
Entertainment for the day included appearances by StarCruises and McDonald’s mascots, acrobatic and magic shows and dance performances by the onboard team. Some families were gifted complimentary cruise packages for future holidays on either the Star Voyager or sister ship Genting Dream, both sailing from Port Klang.
A Halal afternoon tea was served at The Lido restaurant, which includes a dedicated Halal certified section. Children also enjoyed balloon art, clown shows, craft activities and guided tours of the vessel.
“StarCruises and RMHC Malaysia hope that collaborations like this can serve as an example for other companies to support families facing challenges while accompanying their children undergoing long-term medical treatment,” said Mohd Nasri Mohd Nordin, general manager of RMHC Malaysia.
StarCruises noted that the initiative reflects its broader mission to use cruising as a platform for community outreach and positive social impact.
