Stockholm Expects 157 Cruise Calls and 300,000 Guests in 2026
Ports of Stockholm has announced continued growth in cruise traffic, forecasting 157 ship calls and approximately 300,000 passengers for the 2026 season.
“It’s great to see that demand is picking up again in the Baltic Sea and that the number of cruise ships is steadily increasing,” said Stefan Scheja, marketing manager for ferries and cruises at Ports of Stockholm.
“Occupancy onboard is also high, which means that the number of passengers is rising significantly,” Scheja added.
Cruise calls now take place throughout the entire year, with most visitors coming from Germany.
Seven ships are scheduled to make their first-ever visit in 2026. The projected 157 calls mark an increase over both 2025 and 2024. Twenty-one of next year’s arrivals will be at the Port of Nynäshamn, the highest total in many years.
AIDA will be the most frequent caller, with 32 visits expected.
Among the new cruise lines this year is Explora Journeys, which will bring Explora III to Stockholm in August for an overnight stay.
Additional maiden calls in 2026 include:
• National Geographic Endurance
• Evrima
• Carnival Legend
• Scenic Eclipse 2
• Seven Seas Grandeur
• Mein Schiff Relax
