Royal Caribbean International has announced an expansion of the casino aboard Wonder of the Seas, one of its Oasis-class ships. The new casino space will occupy the current location of the Crown Lounge on Deck 4.

Crown Lounge Relocating to Deck 16

The Crown Lounge, typically reserved for elite members of Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, will be moved to Deck 16 as part of the renovation. According to a guest communication from the cruise line, "During this transition, the Crown Lounge will be closed from June 22–28, then reopen on June 29 on Deck 16."

During the relocation, members eligible for Crown Lounge benefits will be able to enjoy their perks elsewhere on the ship. “To keep the fun going, cocktail hour drinks can be redeemed at any bar or lounge. Plus, Diamond and Diamond Plus guests will enjoy extra cappuccino credits loaded onto their SeaPass cards, redeemable at Café Promenade,” the notice added.

Other Venue Closures During Upgrade

In addition to the Crown Lounge relocation, Wonder of the Seas’ teen space, Social100, will be closed for the same duration and is expected to reopen on June 29.

The Golden Room, the ship’s non-smoking casino area, will also temporarily close starting June 22. It will reopen on July 13 as part of the expanded casino footprint on Deck 4. Conference centers onboard will be inaccessible to guests throughout the construction period.

Ship Background and Future Plans

Launched in early 2022, Wonder of the Seas is the fifth vessel in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class series. The 5,738-guest ship is currently sailing seven-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral.

In August 2025, Wonder of the Seas will reposition to Miami, taking over a schedule of shorter Caribbean sailings as the new Star of the Seas replaces it in Port Canaveral.

Royal Caribbean recently made a similar upgrade on another Oasis-class vessel, Utopia of the Seas, where a larger non-smoking casino replaced the ship’s nightclub and comedy club following its debut in 2024.
