The Britannia will include an extra port of call on its Western Mediterranean voyage departing Southampton on July 30, 2027. In a message sent to guests with bookings, P\&O Cruises confirmed that the ship will now call at the Spanish port of Málaga on August 3, 2027.

“We’re delighted to let you know that we’ve updated Britannia’s cruise itinerary,” P\&O Cruises said in an email update.

The cruise line explained that the Málaga visit replaces a previously scheduled day at sea, giving passengers “more opportunities to explore and enjoy.”

“Málaga is known for its stunning beaches, rich cultural heritage and delicious Andalusian cuisine,” P\&O continued. “Whether you choose to wander through the historic old town, visit the Picasso Museum or relax by the Mediterranean, this addition will make your holiday even more special,” the company added.

Sailing roundtrip from Southampton, Britannia is scheduled to operate a 14-night cruise to Spain and Italy beginning on July 30, 2027. With the itinerary change, the cruise will now feature seven port calls, including Cádiz, Cartagena, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Cagliari.

Alongside Málaga, the two-week sailing will also include a stop in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar before the ship returns to Southampton. Passengers will also be able to view the 2027 solar eclipse from onboard, as the vessel will be positioned to observe the event.

Following a Caribbean season in winter 2026–27, Britannia is set to return to Southampton to begin its first year operating year-round from its UK homeport. The ship’s program will include itineraries ranging from seven to 21 nights, visiting Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Iceland, and the Mediterranean.

From October, the 2015-built vessel will also sail to the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula, with calls at ports such as Funchal, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Vigo.
