Bulk Carrier Meshka Grounds Off Sweden’s Coast

The Meshka, a bulk carrier sailing under the Panamanian flag, ran aground near the shores of Landskrona, Sweden, on May 31. Authorities suspect crew negligence may have played a role in the incident, as the vessel.
All 24 crew members are being questioned and one crew member has formally been notified of suspicion. In their defense, crew members claim they acted on the alert, but their response came too late to avoid the incident. Alcohol tests conducted on the crew showed no signs of intoxication.
