Carnival Valor Returns with New Features After Drydock

Carnival Valor has emerged from a recent drydock in Europe boasting a variety of new venues and guest-focused enhancements.
Carnival Cruise Line highlighted that the upgrades enhance comfort and experience across the ship’s staterooms and public areas. One of the most notable additions is the WaterWorks aqua park, complete with dual slides and fun attractions designed for families.
On Deck 5, the ship now features the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge—the 16th of its kind in the fleet. This venue serves as a space to recognize and celebrate active-duty service members and military veterans sailing with Carnival.
“Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge is a heartfelt salute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. It’s fitting to have this popular venue now featured on the Carnival Valor, a ship named in honor of our heroes,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
“We’re proud that more military families choose Carnival for their well-deserved vacations than any other cruise line,” she added.
The ship’s casino received a makeover, including new games and an upgraded layout. Meanwhile, the onboard spa and fitness center have been rebranded under the Cloud 9 Spa name.
Also new is Dream Studio on Deck 3, offering customized photo sessions, and a Carnival Adventures excursion desk on Deck 5 to assist guests with shore tour planning.
Spaces for children and teens have been revitalized as well. Camp Ocean now features a fleet-first LED wall with interactive content and multiplayer gaming, while Circle “C” and Club 02 have been outfitted with fresh gaming and karaoke activities tailored to older age groups.
Guest rooms also saw improvements, including updated lighting and the addition of USB charging ports for more convenience. Accessibility was another focus during the renovation, with enhancements made throughout public areas, such as widened pathways and better facilities for all guests.
The 2,974-passenger Carnival Valor is now sailing back to New Orleans after departing from Barcelona earlier this month. The ship is scheduled to return to its homeport on June 26, 2025, where it will resume its regular Western Caribbean itinerary.
