Cairo is set to host the first edition of the Cruise Egypt Forum, under the theme “Navigate Egyptian Legacy”, from June 1 to 2, 2025.

This groundbreaking event is designed to open up new opportunities for Egypt’s tourism sector while supporting the goals outlined in the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism 2030.

The forum is being organized with the backing of the Suez Canal Authority, and in collaboration with strategic partners from both the Gulf region and Europe. It will attract a wide array of participants, including:

  • Global tourism and port industry representatives
  • International experts in maritime and tourism development.
  • Senior executives from top cruise companies
  • High-level government officials

This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader Vision 2030 development plan, which aspires to draw 30 million visitors annually by 2028, maintaining an ambitious annual growth rate of 25–30%. Among all tourism segments, cruise travel has stood out as one of the most dynamic and rapidly expanding.

As Egypt’s first-ever forum dedicated solely to cruise tourism, the event seeks to establish the country as a major destination along global cruise routes. It will place a spotlight on investment opportunities in port and island development, as well as enhancements to maritime tourism infrastructure and support services.

Interactive panels will convene public and private stakeholders, such as cruise companies, port developers, maritime service providers, and logistics experts, to explore ways of upgrading Egypt’s cruise capabilities and improving port operations and travel procedures.

The program will also include cultural excursions, including tours of Cairo’s renowned Grand Egyptian Museum and the historic Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Beyond networking and planning, the forum will serve as a launchpad for innovative strategies to market Egypt as a premier cruise destination and to design integrated travel packages combining sea voyages with rich land-based experiences.
