Galveston LNG Bunker Port Advances Texas Terminal Project

Galveston LNG Bunker Port, LLC (GLBP), a U.S.-based energy company, has taken a key step forward in developing clean marine fuel infrastructure along the Gulf Coast.
On September 23, the company confirmed that NV5 LNG Engineering Services, Inc. has been chosen to handle the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a new LNG bunkering terminal at Shoal Point in Texas City.
Planned to begin operations in 2028, the facility will feature an initial capacity of 360,000 gallons per day - equivalent to 200,000 metric tons annually - providing LNG bunker fuel for vessels in the Houston-Galveston region.
Once complete, it will stand as the Gulf Coast’s first dedicated LNG liquefaction facility built specifically for marine bunkering. Designed with flexibility in mind, the terminal will be capable of supplying traditional LNG, renewable LNG, and synthetic e-LNG via barge.
