Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced a series of new warm-climate expedition voyages set for the 2027-28 winter season, featuring rarely explored destinations across the Indian Ocean and West Africa.

The cruise line revealed that these eagerly anticipated itineraries will navigate through lesser-visited parts of Ghana, Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Seychelles, and more, offering travelers a deeper look into remote and ecologically rich regions.

All of the newly introduced voyages will take place aboard the Hanseatic Nature, with a focus on snorkeling, close-up wildlife experiences, and in-depth excursions led by knowledgeable guides.

The season begins in late November with a 16-night repositioning cruise from South Africa to the Seychelles. Upon arrival in Mahé, Hanseatic Nature will set off on a 12-night expedition visiting both the Seychelles and Mauritius.

Hapag-Lloyd highlights that many of the destinations featured in this itinerary are secluded, uninhabited islands that offer guests a sense of privacy and exclusivity—accessible only by smaller expedition vessels.

Notable stops include the St. Francis Atoll, the Aldabra Islands, the Inner Islands, and Farquhar Atoll, offering unique opportunities for nature immersion.

Another standout offering is a 14-day voyage from Port Louis, which includes visits to Mauritius, Réunion, Mayotte, and Madagascar. Celebrating Christmas at sea, this roundtrip cruise visits eight diverse locations and emphasizes the region’s unique biodiversity and landscapes, all with the guidance of onboard experts.

A highlight of the journey is the visit to Mayotte, a French overseas territory nestled between Madagascar and the African coast, known for its blend of marine life and island culture.

In addition to these tropical adventures, Hapag-Lloyd’s upcoming season includes Antarctic expeditions on both the Hanseatic Spirit and Hanseatic Nature. Meanwhile, the luxury ships Europa and Europa 2 will offer additional routes through the Indian Ocean, Caribbean, Bahamas, and U.S. ports.
