AIDA Cruises has announced that, beginning July 1, Jana Luth will assume the role of press spokesperson and head of communication at its Rostock headquarters. This appointment comes as part of an effort to enhance the company’s communication strategy under the leadership of Dirk Inger.

According to the official press release, Luth’s new position also marks a professional return to her native Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Background in Renewable Energy and Maritime Tourism

Over the past eight years, Luth has built a strong background in the renewable energy sector, working first with the Federal Association of Wind Energy e.V. and then as spokesperson for the State Association of Renewable Energies Schleswig-Holstein e.V. in Kiel.

Before entering the energy field, Luth held press spokesperson roles for a variety of tourism and maritime organizations, including the Norwegian shipping firm Color Line, the Baltic Sea resort of Damp, and tour operators Gebeco and Dr. Tigges within the TUI Group.

In her new capacity, Luth will report directly to Dirk Inger, senior vice president of public affairs, communication, and sustainability. She will oversee both internal and external communications for AIDA Cruises.

AIDA Praises Luth’s Industry Expertise

“With Luth, we are gaining an experienced communication specialist with extensive industry experience. Her solid expertise in tourism and sustainability fits perfectly with our course as the largest provider of ocean cruises in Germany,” said Inger.

“We are convinced that she will effectively advance the communicative development of AIDA Cruises with the strong team,” he added.

Luth also shared her enthusiasm for the position: “The new role at AIDA Cruises is an exciting challenge for me, where I will specifically bring in my experiences from the tourism, shipping and renewable energy sectors.”

“I am especially attracted to the combination of international cruising and sustainable corporate orientation at Germany’s third-largest tour operator. Together with the team, I will actively shape communication and position AIDA authentically in the public eye,” she concluded.
