The Liberty of the Seas has recently made its way to Cape Liberty to kick off a summer cruise season along the East Coast of North America.

Following a winter schedule that included short voyages to the Bahamas, the ship arrived at its new base in early May.

Now sailing from Royal Caribbean’s terminal near New York City, Liberty of the Seas will offer a variety of routes to destinations including Bermuda, the Caribbean, Canada, and New England.

The ship’s inaugural departure from Cape Liberty this season was a nine-night journey that explored the Eastern Caribbean and Bermuda. This cruise left Bayonne on May 1 and featured port calls in King’s Wharf, St. Maarten, San Juan, and Puerto Plata.

Throughout the summer, the vessel is scheduled to operate a mix of cruises lasting four to twelve nights. These itineraries will include stops in cities such as Halifax, Boston, Portland, Saint John, and Sydney.

Regular visits to Labadee, Royal Caribbean’s private resort in Haiti, are also on the agenda.

The 2007-built cruise ship will remain in the New York City area for nearly half the year before heading back to Florida in late October.

For the 2025-2026 winter season, Liberty of the Seas will once again offer short Bahamas getaways, this time departing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.

These winter sailings will highlight stops at the private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, as well as Labadee.

Also joining the summer lineup out of Cape Liberty in 2025 is the Symphony of the Seas. After completing a longer cruise to the Caribbean, the ship will run regular weeklong itineraries to Florida and the Bahamas, with departures each weekend.

These seven-night cruises include visits to Port Canaveral, Nassau, and the ever-popular Perfect Day at CocoCay.
