A 44-year-old cruise passenger was removed from the Anthem of the Seas in Port Chalmers following a late-night altercation onboard. According to the Otago Daily, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when the man allegedly assaulted another male guest, who suffered a cut to his nose and received treatment in the ship’s medical center.

When the vessel docked at 6 a.m., local authorities boarded to investigate. The Australian passenger was issued a formal warning for assault and ordered to leave the ship. His family continued the cruise while he was left to organize his own travel arrangements back to Australia. Royal Caribbean cited its security procedures and the company’s right to disembark passengers who cause disruptions.

Earlier in the month, a separate incident took place aboard Harmony of the Seas, another Royal Caribbean vessel. During a Western Caribbean cruise from Galveston, two livestreamers were involved in a physical confrontation on the open deck after an online argument turned personal.

Both individuals were detained by ship security and disembarked in Roatán, where they arranged their own flights home. The altercation occurred within a broader “streamer-cruise” environment that had already seen previous security-related incidents involving social media personalities.
