The Port of Brisbane has celebrated a major achievement, marking the arrival of its 500th cruise ship at the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT) since the facility opened in 2022.

The milestone was reached on Sunday when Carnival Luminosa berthed at the terminal, underscoring Brisbane’s expanding importance as a major cruise gateway in Australia.

The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal received its first vessel on June 2, 2022, when P\&O Explorer made the inaugural call. In just over three and a half years, the terminal has hosted ships from many of the world’s leading cruise brands, connecting travelers to destinations throughout Australia and beyond, while supporting the continued growth of Queensland’s cruise sector.

Each ship visit involves a large operational effort. Approximately 130 personnel, including Port of Brisbane staff and partner organizations, coordinate every call to manage arrivals, departures, passenger processing and overall port activity.

The Port of Brisbane recognized the teamwork that made the milestone possible, offering thanks to employees, cruise partners, terminal operators and the surrounding community for their ongoing support since the terminal began operations.
