Royal Caribbean Plans Ship Overhauls and New Destinations

Royal Caribbean has revealed that three of its popular cruise ships—Ovation of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas—will undergo significant upgrades in 2026 as part of its Royal Amplified program. These enhancements follow in the footsteps of the recently revitalized Allure of the Seas.
In addition to modernizing its fleet, the cruise line is expanding its destination offerings over the next three years. A major highlight includes the launch of Perfect Day at Mexico, set for 2027.
Ovation of the Seas: Enhanced Adventure and Dining
The Ovation of the Seas will debut a redesigned pool deck complete with private cabanas and a new whirlpool area. Guests will enjoy globally inspired dining options, including classic Italian dishes at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen and interactive hibachi experiences at Izumi Teppanyaki.
A standout addition is the debut of the Pesky Parrot, a tiki-themed bar new to the Quantum class. Entertainment will also be upgraded with the Sound Cellar dance venue and a larger Casino Royale.
The ship will feature refreshed staterooms, the Ripcord by iFly skydiving simulator, and the SeaPlex—the biggest indoor activity complex at sea. Beginning spring 2026, Ovation will offer 7- to 13-night voyages through the scenic landscapes of Alaska.
Harmony of the Seas: Caribbean Flavors and Family Fun
Upgrades to the Harmony of the Seas will include a tropical-style pool deck complete with The Lime & Coconut bar and a newly updated adults-only Solarium. Dining and entertainment venues will exceed 20 in total, including Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, El Loco Fresh, and a new Brazilian-style Samba Grill Steakhouse.
After a summer 2026 season in Europe, Harmony will transition to Port Canaveral in Florida for Caribbean getaways. Starting winter 2026, it will offer five- and seven-night trips to sunny ports such as St. Thomas and Jamaica’s Falmouth, as well as Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
Guests can also buy access to the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opening in December 2025.
Liberty of the Seas: European Adventures and Texas Homeport
Liberty of the Seas will feature a redesigned pool deck complete with The Lime & Coconut bar, shaded casitas, and a newly introduced Royal Escape Room experience. Dining enhancements will include Izumi Teppanyaki and a first-time onboard Starbucks.
In summer 2026, Liberty will cruise from Southampton with seven-night European itineraries to destinations like the Norwegian fjords, Bruges, and Copenhagen. For the winter season, the ship will relocate to Galveston, Texas, and include visits to the forthcoming Royal Beach Club Cozumel.
