AIDAluna and AIDAbella Set for Major Renovations

AIDA Cruises has revealed that both AIDAluna and AIDAbella will undergo extensive refurbishments at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France.
The upgrades are part of the cruise line’s AIDA Evolution program, which will introduce refreshed cabins, an expanded selection of suites, and a new color scheme. Guests can also look forward to updated dining and entertainment venues, including the Lanai Bar, French Kiss, and Yacht Club, according to the company’s announcement.
From October 22 to December 10, 2025, AIDAluna will remain in the shipyard for 49 days of modernization. Once complete, she will debut with a special sailing called “Fall in love with AIDAluna again”—a five-day itinerary from Palma de Mallorca to Palma, with stops in Marseille, Palamós, and Barcelona.
The celebratory voyage will feature live performances from artists such as Max Mutzke, known for his blend of soul, pop, and jazz, as well as comedian Mirja Boes and her group, the Honkey Donkeys.
AIDAbella’s refit will take place from January 21 to March 11, 2026. Following the renovation, the ship will embark on a cruise beginning in Palma de Mallorca, sailing to Civitavecchia near Rome, La Spezia, and Marseille. After an overnight stay in port, the journey continues to Barcelona before returning to Palma on March 18.
Guests on this voyage can enjoy special appearances by the band Glasperlenspiel, comedian Matze Knop, and model Eva Padberg, who christened the ship as godmother in 2008.
