Princess Cruises Adds Second Ship to Singapore in 2026

Princess Cruises is set to expand its presence in Asia by basing two ships out of Singapore for the 2026-27 winter season, offering nearly 30 sailings from the city-state. The Sapphire Princess will join the Diamond Princess in the region, increasing both the variety of itineraries and the number of departure dates.
The Sapphire Princess, returning to Asia after a five-year hiatus, is scheduled to operate 18 cruises from Singapore. These include roundtrip voyages exploring the Far East and Southeast Asia. Some itineraries feature extended stays in iconic ports such as Ha Long Bay (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand), and Hong Kong (China).
Among the season highlights is a special 14-night holiday cruise in December 2026, designed to celebrate Christmas and New Year. This voyage will include stops in eight destinations across Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand—such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, and Sihanoukville.
Another themed sailing will take place in early February 2027 for Chinese New Year. This 14-night journey, marking the Year of the Goat, will visit ten ports across Southeast Asia.
The Sapphire Princess, originally launched in 2004, was notably the first Princess Cruises ship to homeport in Singapore back in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Diamond Princess will return to Southeast Asia following its extended deployment in Japan and the Far East. Arriving in Singapore in November 2026, the ship will offer 11 regional cruises before heading back to Japan in March 2027. These itineraries range from seven to 28 nights and cover 28 ports across eight different countries.
The 2026-27 season will mark the first time since the 2018-19 cruise season that both the Sapphire Princess and the Diamond Princess will be operating out of Singapore simultaneously.
